PrAgMatic

Niagara Research received funding to develop a precision agriculture data management system called PrAgMatic. The focus of the PrAgMatic project is the individual farm and farmer, where the research team has focused primarily on the viticulture industry as the initial application sector.

The PrAgMatic system will take data from a variety of sources and create information that is relevant to an individual farm, including weather, temperature, soil, and GIS data. The fundamental core of PrAgMatic is the ability to compare various datasets side by side, and to combine these data sets in order to make relevant farm specific decisions.

As the development of PrAgMatic progresses further we have begun to expand into the mobile world and because PrAgMatic is primarily web based, nearly all channels can be viewed on both mobile and pc platforms. Vine Information Channel - This Channel displays all current information about each individual vine on the farm. The channel is displayed using the Google Earth plugin.

Radar Imaging - We currently have two different radar channels, one from King City Base, and the other from Buffalo Base.

Linear Forecasting Module - This channel displays a small graph which includes when it is predicted to rain and the predicted amount of rain.
